As a followup to see if they fixed the bugs I installed a clean, fresh version of 1803 then completed all updates through MS Update service. It was a bit more stable but I still had to go through the optional windows installs in the Programs and Features tab just to get my NAS and other network features to show up. It still drops my NAS and other legacy bugs going back to Vista are still present which I gave up hope for a long time ago if they would ever get fixed. So I went back to 1709 up to the ????.431 update and it runs well enough that I can get by. Seriously, why do I or other coders have to create 3rd party programs like the ShellFolder Fix just to make windows bearable. Windows 7 was art. It was one of the most loved and customizable versions of windows ever on the market and Microsoft does everything within their power to give you the middle finger. I want my operating system, something I use every day, to be an extension of ME. Not the ideas of some outsourced engineer out of India.
I stupidly retried a clean and updated 1803 and again regretted it, as generally I still found system stability and performance subpar in comparison to latest updated LTSB. UWA apps remain unstable and prone to breaking (Edge stopped working), multi tasking is slower (swapping out from 3Dsmax to Photo shop) and encountered micro stuttering and lowered frame rates in games (BF1 and AC origins). I clean installed 1803 twice, with the same result (Though second install the store broke and not Edge). Identical software packages and drivers versions were used on 1803 and LTSB. I had thought the latest updates would improve things for me, clearly not.
Baffling, but the former rtm build 17133.1 is more stable and snappier than any 17134 on several systems I've put it. RIP good code that microsoft has scrapped along with the dozen paki that have written it But don't worry, Microsoft is making all builds s**t - retro-actively via cumulative updates - so that you don't have reasons not to update to the latest
Not sure if it's posted already but if you enable Core Isolation it will actually block the memory of the Logitech and Corsair (at least these two as its all I own) hardware from using "virtual drivers"... which are requirements for Logitech Gaming Software and Corsair Utility Engine.
After KB4103721 CU installation, system restore Turned off and early created System restore point deleted. I can't even go back to 1709, that option also removed from settings. I can't even turn off windows defender, as I am using KIS 2018.
I don't have. That is system default, I think so. After fresh install 17134.1, windows updated to 17134.48 and restarted. After login again I see a beautiful transparent tasbar. I didn't change any things. sorry for my bad English.
Acrylic in the taskbar is controlled by the toggle that is in Settings-Personalizations-Colors-Transparency effects.
Today I went to the setting and updates just to get the latest update to 1709. Low and behold Microsoft went behind my back and started the install of 1803. I stopped it immediately because my cleanest install of 1803 yields nothing but bugs and network problems. Thank the programing gods for O&O Shutup 10 because I turned off all updating. In Microsoft great wisdom how many people are FORCED updated to a bug ridden operating system. Seriously, have they lost their minds??? Has anyone gotten Visual Studio 2015 to work with LTSB because I am about to go rogue and drop all windows reference to Microsoft's money making, DRM App fun fest. I miss my cable tuner with my Media Center and my Green lolipop color icons from Devian Art.
