    I have a script that will put the shut down, restart and log-off buttons on the start page of win 8 if interested

    don't know if this was reported or not.
    I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8 consumer preview and i cant access the "PC Settings" in Metro or "Change Account Picture"
    I can click on these parts of the user interface, but it does nothing at all. i can access the desktop control panel, but once there any links that point to the Metro PC Settings version of the control panel, it does nothing and just sits there.
    My only other gripe about Windows 8 is the nVidia drivers that were just released for the consumer preview. certain games that are heavy on the graphics will cause the drivers to freeze and weird colors to show on the screen, in some cases causing the computer to reboot itself. No problems using the current Windows 7 nVidia drivers.

    Has anyone had problems with the display language in some metro apps?
    I'm using the English build but some apps are in german. It's probably because my locale is set to Dutch(Belgium) so the order would be Dutch, French, German, English.
    I'd suspect it to show in French then, but that doesn't matter. The setting "Overwrite for Windows display language" is set to English US instead of language list, so I thought that meant that if dutch isn't available it goes to english? Or are those apps only available in german?

    @Stannieman
    I made a clean install of W8 in my native German language but find the weather app only in English display language. The only thing I can change is farenheit to celsius. Same with maps. I blame it on the beta version and I'm sure it will be changed when RC or RTM is out for sale (Download).

    Weather is in english here, it's about the mail and calender app, and also the pdf reader.
    How do you change to °C btw?

    To change weather default settings for Celsius grade all you have to do is open weather and from right left corner on your desktop choose settings....

    Oh thanks, I thought that settings stuff only had windows sections and all in-app settings went through the bar that pops up when you right-click. Not the case it seems :)

    The Charms are by default controlling your current opened App (Desktop/Metro apps), this was Designed so ppl have a Control over the App at always the same Place, Microsoft doesn't actually bind the Developer to this though, but they recommend you as app writer to make use of the Charms to it's full extent.
    So if you want to change something, look into Settings first.
    If you want to Search, click the Search charm.
    If you want to Share, Click the Share charm.

    It's straight forward, but a lot of ppl might not expect that you CONTROL your current app with this Charms bar as well.
