Neat hotkey bugs 1. Windows Explorer 2. a. Prerequisite: Have multiple instances or tabs open for a grouped, pinned, taskbar item (e.g. if IE is pinned to your taskbar, open at least 2 separate tabs) b. Use the Ctrl+Win+# shortcut to open the Live previews for the app (i.e. if IE is in position 1 on your taskbar, use Ctrl+Win+1)c. While continuing to hold Ctrl+Win, press the up arrow key. The live previews will move to the top of your monitor. Move them back with the down arrow.3. Bug report sent; no solution yet. Another hotkey bug: 1. Windows Explorer 2. a. Press Win+X to open WinX menu (anybody know what the MS name for this menu is?) b. While still holding Win, press Ctrl+Up to show the Windows Start Screen taskbar shortcut in the middle of your taskbar.3. Bug report sent; no solution yet. Personally, I'm not having any terrible bugs; however, I. most of my Metro apps just show solid colored icons (a bug that seems rather common)II. for some reason I can't seem to generate a new WEI score (I'm pretty sure I've installed/screwedup something that interferes with it)III. the File Copy box has all kinds of problems with cancelling copies/moves or dealing with hidden, system, or in-use filesIV. in the File History appI found a rather specific bug involving deleting entire library folders from a custom library - if I open File History for said custom library, it kills the app and demands I install a debugger (although I have the one from the SDK installed); this problem is rather hard to replicate. But hey, it's beta. And I've grown to like it; I spend much more time on the desktop than in Metro, and the desktop improvements are pretty good, regardless of my thoughts on MetroUI.
Explorer.exe hangs on often when paste/delete any file/folder at 99% of progress. This bug is present from build 7850. What a fail...
I miss the option to scan files with Windows Defender over right-click menu in Explorer. Just like it worked with Microsoft Security Essentials.
Seconded! Hopefully this will be available to us in the final version. In fact, I think I'm gonna file a "bug report" about it now.
Win8 Crashing Windows 8 crashes while working I am getting Blue Screen Of Death(BSOD) every time i turn on or shutdown Messages like : Dpc WATCHDOG VIOLATION Exception not handled any help????
Try disabling Windows Defender. Also you should go to view reliability history, maybe there is a hint of what's happening there.
LOL, yeah, I know, but MS might put it back if folks complain that its missing. Good idea about adding it myself; think I'll try that.
Music also stutters in WMP, virtual dj, itunes, whatever. That's probably also a chipset issue, maybe related? When the USB has the triangle the whole system (including sound) hangs for about 1-2 seconds when connecting a device.
I'm not sure if this is a bug but - where is the 'Startup' folder or how can i tell a program to start with windows manually? Thank you
Could be, I run into several sound problems too. But also some more bugs when running a game and virtual machine together. It was really annoying as I do that more times so turned back to 7 for now.
