I didn't quite know what to search for so I made a new thread. This problem has persisted throughout several version of the preview. Three to be exact. If it matters, I upgraded to the preview builds from Windows 8.1. It appears I have double buttons for the "show hidden icons" down by the system tray. I'm wondeing if it's just me or if someone else has this issue? I'd post an image or link to it. But apparently I can't until I get 20 posts. Which I also realize has its reasons. It's bugging the hell out of me.
Have you checked your startup processes, maybe things are running in tandem. I would personally make a backup image of your current system and try a fresh install. If I had to guess, it would be all the upgrades from 8.1 to your current 10056. Upgrades have always been messy.
Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure about the new processes since the upgrade. I just did a refresh of it, but that probably just put it back as it was (As it is now). But, if you know more about the new system I could post a processlist for you. I haven't really installed anything since I did a refresh last night. Only Spotify, VLC and Chrome. Do you mean a full format then install? I went from Windows 8.1 to Preview 10041 - 10049 - 10056. The problem has been throughout all of the preview builds.
Just made one, tried changing user. Was presented with a black background with cursor only. After a reboot, I logged in to the new local user and the double button is gone. How would I go about fixing this for my actual account? Edit: So, I kept mucking about, figuring the only thing that differs the accounts are pretty much the color I picked for Windows, not a theme, just a color. Turns out that the synced theme from Windows 8.1 was causing it. I wasn't even aware that they'd keep it, figured it was a completely clean slate. I solved the problem by picking any of the default "themes" shipped with W10. Thanks for the responses.
@: ångest You could try to use image tags (BBCode [i m g] and [/i m g] without spaces) for to place links to pictures/screenshots.
