    I've heard a public beta is probably going around january 2012 so good for us, public beta normally we don't need invites or things like that

    Nowadays, it's hardly anything free, you need to earn it.

    Phone call activation software

    Is it possible to make a software which can take input of system ID code
    like phone activation system and give activation code in return?

    I don't think it would be that simple, you may need to know all the inner working cycles of the phone activation system, figure out all the possibilities and correct answers, and where to check & write to your system to make it activated.

    Someone had a beta win8 version activation backup for testing, but it had failed, and I have not heard from that gentleman ever since...

    Phone activation is no longer viable with either key. SO what now?

    Use the one on page 15, post #150, and follow the instructions exactly.

    Did you follow the instructions on page 15, post #150?

    @ODY123, I did exactly by following page 15 your #150 post, phone activation failed. Since I installed Windows 8 in Oracle Virtual Box, I deleted the Windows 8 out of frustration. Moreover, Windows 8 surprisingly did not work seamlessly with host, which is Windows 7 Ultimate. The mouse and keyboard needed CTRL control/release. I had enough. I have more fun with Mac OSx Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Ubuntu x64. I will wait for Windows 8 beta or RC to try Windows 8 again. FYI, I used all 3 trial keys and made 3 phone activation attempts, all failed.

    Did you use the local phone or the cellphone for activation?
    What country did you select?

    Try to use local(wire) phone, they may verify the phone & the phone numbers...

    When I used a wired telephone trying to activate Windows 8 Build 7989 (using the post #150 method in this thread), I also got an error saying that they "cannot complete activation as our records do not recognize this as a valid product." I did selected Canada (as the the toll-free number 1-888-725-1047 is the same for Canada and the United States). I tried several times using Windows 7 Ultimate retail keys as well as a product key mentioned in post #150 while trying to activate Windows 8 Build 7989, but with no sucess with both the online activation and phone activation.

    By the way, I'm new here to this forum. Is there any solutions to activate Windows 8 Build 7989 other than using the telephone/cell phone? How about the Regristry Editor if we can "remove" the activation?

    You can't 'remove' anything with the Registry Editor^^

    And honestly why bother with the activation? you can re-arm this build until BETA :roflmao: its long enough

    But to your problem: no idea.

    Really guys,why you bother to activate this build? :confused:
    When you need (if),re-arm... x2=+60 days.
    I beleive withwin 2 months,new Build will be available.
