Local phone and select USA as I live in the States. I have a male robot talking to me at the end after answering all the set of numbers. " The response was " I am sorry we cannot complete activation or something like the key is not a valid product. You can return the product to reseller, blah blah, blah wasting time exercise.
Well, both the installation ID and the confirmation ID is the same for each product key. That is why I posted the confirmation ID in post #231.
It will give the same confirmation ID on the same hardware configuration (ie same pc) for the same key each time. My confirmation ID was totally different with the same key. Hope this is clear
I would not think so either. Most likely the ID's are the same as the pkeyconfig info in windows 7 and possibly vista where it is a unique hardware ID. AKA, different hardware = different ID lol.
It would be different because it is generated to your machine specifics (processor, memory, graphics, bios/dmi info, etc...) On another note, I remembered when I used to work as a system builder a few years back and if you had an activated (legally) Windows XP Professional and upgraded the memory, you had to activate again because of the hardware change...
no activation needed guys, first rearm today, and 60 days more to enjoy 7989.... and this is enough until first beta comes out..... Noone will create a activator for alpha builds, maybe just for beta ones, waiting RTM... The only solution to activate is using phone, until MS will blacklist the SN used.... Nice going
Everyone has his/her own opinion, some people like to activate their windows, some don't. Just like some people want to install antivirus software on their 7989, some don't. So this is a free world, do whatever you are pleased(within rules, of course)...
