    It contains a binary file (.wim) that contains the images. (In Windows 7 atleast, haven't looked at Windows 8)

    First open bootres.dll with reshack..
    Go to RCData>Action>Save RCData..
    Then Download 7ZIP..
    Go to the folder where you saved the rcdata..
    Extract the "RCData_X.bin" with 7zip.

    DONE:D

    I got a Metro-ish control panel, overlays all other UI elements, very annoying, anyone know how to turn it off?

    Can anyone help me I downloaded the 7989 torrent and could not find installprep in the sources filder and the setup file has the date sept 2010 and build 7850 is this a fake i have burned to disk.

    Maybe someone can put all the findings in the first post of this thread. It would be much easier and people wouldn't always ask the same questions over and over again :cool: ;)

    I was playing with the 2 last options in Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts. (Pattern logon and something else, last option has gone now)

    After logging in with Pattern logon, sometimes my theme is reset to a weird Basic theme without the option to turn transparent windows on and the Metro Control Panel is there. Rebooted PC now and it won't show up anymore :mad:

    System-Settings: Press Ctrl+F9 to deactivate Aero and then start C:\Windows\system32\SystemSettings.exe
    History vault: Open a Folder in Explorer, Click Home (Ribboon) -> History (open)

    Control Panel\System and Security\History Vault\Advanced Settings has an option "Size of offline cache".
    Sounds like it will be possible to use History Vault in combination with a cloud...
