Completely unsuggested, upgrade is the last thing to do.... with a early release of Win8 is like killing flyies with a gun..... he he TRY: 1- install on a virtual machine(if ur computer supports..) 2- Do a clean install on a second partition near W7 SP1 3- Do a clean install on a second computer as main os(but not your main PC)
New version 1.6 settles very well at home while having taken care dinstaller. Net framework 3.5 SP1 excuse my bad English
DO NOT 2./3. USE VHD BOOTING INSTEAD, everything else is just plain stupid and out's yourself as noob
anyone notice the oem setup text file located on main drive after installing, gives some info about the leaker such as computer name, even the cpu type in detail, just wondering if any of that can be used to trace him/her? lol
Hi, I am using Windows 8 build 7955 and I was facing the same problem. The OS did`nt see my LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H42N dvd drive. To sort this problem out first of all I restarted my PC and inserted the windows 8 7955 disc and begin to boot the disc. Then after the setup screen appears after booting the disc cancel the setup. The PC restarts . Then log into your Windows operating System. When you`re logged in go to my computer and see that if shows the drive now or not! If it shows the drive then quickly open device manager and under dvd/cdrom device uninstall your current drive drivers. Once the driver for the drive has been uninstalled than quickly click action menu and in it select scan for hardware changes which results in permanent installation of your dvd rom drivers. NOTE**WHILE FOLLOWING THESE STEPS YOU SHOULD NOT EJECT THE WINDOWS INSTALLATION DISC** Now once hardware is recognized eject the disc and restart the computer and see the change.......... ___________________________________________________________________________________________ This has worked for me in windows 8 build 7955. I hope that this would be helpful to you in windows 8 build 7989.
That info doesn't necessary indicate that it was the leaker's machine, the info within that text document has more than likely been generated by HP themselves when the image was created and installed onto that particular system.
Did a system reset today and decided pick the option to let it keep my user data. Made me go through the OOBE again then made me add a user. Tried my old username but obviously that was already taken. I had to create a second user before it would let me go on, that needs to get fixed. It should only make you go through the OOBE if you chose to delete your user files.
