Oh, I forgot something: Mount the 7989 ISO or put the 7989 DVD in your computer and start "sysreset.exe". Now you can restore windows (without deleting user accounts or within deleting user accounts and programs). Boot from the DVD and start reset doesn't work without the original ISO, that's right.
which iso did you use ? File name: 6.2.7989.0.amd64fre.winmain.110421-1825.iso this : Size: 3.54GB (3,229,550,592 bytes) MD5 : 4480F94C 0E11CE58 DC9B7330 678F07DD SHA1 : C09CDCEC 2540D93E EBE650B5 21B2F7AE 477A300A or : CRC32: 17B61527 MD5: 5CB7A32FB7A83972081792EC27BA8CCC SHA-1: 5C7828407F6C8CD8EE655E821AEA85F3544BCB84 or the original ? Can you explain more ?
It's from russian forum pcportal.org.ru. But it isn't ImmersiveShell, it's only a alfa version of programm that emulate new interface. Programm translated to russian by PainteR.
Then you have a problem with your computer. On my pc it says: But for me it isn't a problem, because I have a original iso. With that I can use system restore also when I boot from DVD. But also with the leaked ISO you can use system restore when running in windows.
Ok I finally got it! And there's no need to sysprep it a 2nd time myself. In the image there's the file \Windows\Setup\State\State.ini that has this in it: Code: [State] ImageState=IMAGE_STATE_GENERALIZE_RESEAL_TO_AUDIT Simply changing AUDIT to OOBE will fix the sysprep thing. Then just delete: Windows\Panther (created during setup but not removed when the leaker ran sysprep). C:\Sysprep C:\OSBOM.TXT C:\Unattended.xml All files in C:\Windows\System32\winevt (logfiles you can see from eventvwr) C:\Windows\Lobs\CBS\CBS.log When sysprep doesnt' autorun and thus can't apply the unattended files, there's also no HP info in the registry anymore. That's probably as close to the original MS wim as you can get. Additionally I'll fix twinui so sfc /scannow isn't necessary after a clean install.
I wonder, is the BlurSigma key from Vista still present in Windows 8? IIRC it allowed controlling the blur intensity.
