    Right click your desktop - view - show desktop icons
    It should be ticked.
    If it is inaccessible, delete the following registry values:
    Code:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
    DWORD named NoDesktop

    and the same in
    Code:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
