    Hi, @MS_User

Yes I did, I tried any driver that AMD says compatible with this card. My HD is OK run chkdsk many times.

the only thing i can think of is that machine has some kind of HW limitation that prevents u from upgrading any further...try installing the 14393 just as a test and see if u get the BSOD crash if no issues try to bump it up to the 18362.

It is the AMD graphic card that causes the BSOD, and disabling it is the only way for this machine to boot, during a major update like Windows 20H2 it will download a driver for it and will re-enable it during restart and that will trigger the BOSD and the update will roll back.

i understand what your saying but trying a older version of windows mite not bring on the crash so if u want to run win10 on that machine u mite have run a older version.

I will keep this option for now because downgrading will need a clean install, and till Christmas I'm not ready for that.

faulty hardware gpu radeon and mainly nvidia are known
i have disable many radeon mobile card on laptop since 2/3 years. mainly hp probook, which has option "switchable graphic" to disable the card easy, some hp pavilion where bios missing option, which need disabled by device manager too ( + disable driver from windows update.)
on a macbook pro too, amd radeon card too , uefi nvram setting can disable card.
there isn't a driver or windows problem
problem exist with or macos too.
some card hang often than other , some black screen , some bsod ...

    @Sonic

Been using laptops for years never had any problems with gpu before, this one is the first and only AMD one I have, all the rest were NVIDIA which never gave my any problems. I'll try to find a way around this tomorrow, hopefully avoid enabling the card during restart. if successful, I will but it in details here.

    Successfully update to Windows 20H2,

    Her is what I did:
    • Take the device ID from the device manager. Right click the device -> properties -> details tab -> Proprieties drop down choose “hardware IDs” -> write down the IDs.
    • Stopped Windows Update from downloading and installing drivers for the dead AMD card in Group Policy like this:
    • Go to the section Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Device Installation -> Device Installation Restrictions. Enable the policy “Prevent installation of devices that match any of these device IDs” write down the IDs you got from the device manager.
    • Used Microsoft Media Creation Tool to download the latest Windows (20H2).
    • Disconnect the internet connection.
    • Mounted the ISO from within Windows, opened it and run Setup.

This prevented the downloading of a driver for the AMD card and made the update finish successfully and also all apps and file were intact.

I wish to thank all those tried to help me, I do appreciate it very much guys. :)
