Peter, your iso doesnt work any which way for me. It either hangs with a black screen and blinking cursor (this is a XP-8 beta dual booter) or on a single booter (win7 ent 32 bit) it boots, gives me the appropriate messages, then I need to press any key- then again it dispalys the same messages, then again I press any key-now it takes me to windows BUT i cannot login with a random incorrect password. I burned 2 CDs using different software and same result. Also, as others have said it would be easier to test with a usb version. I tested kon-boot- it doesnt work with 8 beta but works fantastically with everything else.
Hi Peter Kleissner, I am a big fan of yours. I have been following you on www .stoned-vienna. com for sometime now. I am facing problem with the Stoned Lite.iso. I am unable to burn the ISO with any Software (Poweriso, Windows Default Burner, k3b, Gnomebaker, etc. ). Kindly guide me how I can create a working CD / DVD. Although I tried with DVD media, I believe CD & DVD should behave the same way. Kindly guide me on this. Also do suggest any alternative to Exploiting Windows 8 with Stoned v2.0 or Stoned Lite. Thanks in Advance.
You can use the file replacement trick. You rename the files "Utilman.exe" or "Magnify.exe" in "%WinDir%\System32\" and then replace them with "cmd.exe". Once you are at the login screen, open the cmd, and type this to reset to a blank password: Code: net user Username "" Of course, if it is on your second hard drive, when you plug the drive in, you can simply access your folders. Windows will allow you to reconfigure permissions, or you can just right click to change the file ownership and permissions on the drive manually.
Seems you don't.... People should be stopping this kind of tools if they are scared by the A/V popping a message... it's not their type of tool... Yeah......... More feedback than the original explanation in first post? Really, if you can't grab the idea behind it, don't use it. Seriously......................
missing infector.exe Trying to get a working boot iso for this but failing. The file I downloaded: Stoned Bootkit Framework.zip doesn't have an executable folder. It's also missing the infector.exe from the folder: Stoned Bootkit Framework.zip\Stoned Bootkit Framework\Live CD and Live UFD\Modification Files\Stoned\ In here it's listed as Stoned Infector.exe - removed with 0 bytes. Does anyone have a list of the full zip file or complied iso please? If it helps, I'm trying to get this to work so that I can see for myself what happens when I boot it from a laptop which has had truecrypt's whole drive encryption run on it. Thanks, Diskbox
Thanks Tito. I was expecting to see the infector.exe inside the zip file but this doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks for the link, I've downloaded the zip from there and it looks like the source code for the exe files is there so I'll set to compiling.
