Patch Tuesday (B-release) = Second Tuesday of the month, where MS will release security-related updates for all supported OS at around 10am Redmond (WA) time. Also the time the WSUS catalog is updated. There are also C and D releases the following Tuesdays, but they are for features and error corrections only.
According to @komm, "ESU is not activated" just means that you don't have an activated ESU license (purchased from Microsoft). If a user buys an ESU license, it needs to be activated (like Windows needs activation). That message doesn't mean that abbodi1406's BypassESU script is not working properly. As long as it says "Check OK" at the end when running KUC_Check_ESU_ready.exe, the bypass is working and you are ready to install the ESU updates. I don't know why they are not installing for you though.
I recently have known of this tool to get W7 reliable despite the EOL, and i think a lot of persons are in my same situation. For someone who wants to start now and install the Bypass W7 from April, what are the missing steps to recover the previuos undone?
I've never used any previous version of Bypass W7 EOL so the OS is stucked with lastest 14 January W7 updated. Can i install everything i've missed from Febraury? Is there any rolled .bat files that can install missing update without manually searching for them in the MU Catalog?
Yes, I think you should start reading from post 1 on page 1 of this whole thread. Follow all the steps one by one and Windows Update will work again.
Thanks for the info. I don't know what went wrong but my whole OS is toast now. I cant get any updates, all my system restore points have vanished (except some from 2 years ago) and I'm getting Blue Screen of death crashes all the time now. Also I am unable to open any of the crash logs from these BSOD. I have no recourse now but to abandon Windows 7 completely and buy Windows 10 now as reinstalling Windows 7 at this point would be stupid. Im happy the users on this site were able to help me get me Windows7 for a few years, and would have loved to keep it for another few, but since there is no system restore for me to go back to, (and no way for me to check my crash logs) I have no other options. This whole process just killed my OS.
I tried with Windows 7 Ultimate installed on VirtualBox, the last cumulative update I had to install offline though. I will test in the coming months and update you. Hi.
Then you probably didn't follow the instructions, if you didn't install kb4538483, WU won't offer any of the ESU updates:
can i ask something just for curiosity ?the official tech support of 7 has ended.what about the customers that bought the ESU ???
