@ oldie # 1 [/ USER] - are you sure you have .NET v4.8 on your System? What you're trying above is ONLY for that version. The following REGEDIT lookup will tell you what version you have on your System ... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ NET Framework Setup \ NDP \ v4 \ Full [/ QUOTE] If you have 4.8 or any new 4.x versions they will also be listed in 'Programs and Features' from the control panel.
@Enthusiastic I used the "target" method to install the May .Net update. The highest installed version of .Net is 4.8, but I also have 3.51 also installed is the May update a combo install for all your. Nets or do I need to install the May updates for my other .Net vers.?
Just tried to install KB4552940 which is for 3.5.1, it said it was already installed. Only remember manually installing the 4.8 update? I would install it anyway, cant hurt.
Hi everyone! Just a few (maybe silly) questions please: I understand that in order to install .NET 4.x updates, a workaround is currently required (thanks @vinzf for the method, and @abbodi1406 for the script!) -- now does this mean that other future updates may be impacted too? In this case, would there be a way to update BypassESU in order to avoid using the workaround? Does W7ESUI work for such updates without the workaround? Many thanks in advance!
Usually System Restore will remove updates if they were after the restore point. When it installs updates you may have noticed it creates a restore point for you to reverse any problems they may cause. Run Windows Update and see if it finds anything. You can also search for them in the installed updates section of Windows Update.
