    Hello everyone,

a little advice form my experience: after every update, it's important to do another update check and apply latest Servicing Stack Updates (SSU)
This must be done before the following updates

It could be useful to add this advice in the documentation of the scripts

This time things didn't run as expected.

KB5007236 through WU fails with error 80073701 (Windows Update found an unknown error).

    From the log:
Handler FATAL: UH: 0x80070490: EvaluateApplicability failed in CCbs::EvaluateApplicability
Agent WARNING: Failed to evaluate Installed rule, updateId = {850138F2-E1D3-4E29-B962-7324C1C6AE1D}.202, hr = 80070490

Downloaded the KB from the WU Catalog and it also fails.

    Any suggestion?

Sorted this in an unusual way, but with an unpleasant caveat: losing connection to my network printer, again.

If you read my post here, after installing KB5006743 last month, I lost the network printer.
Later, I managed to recover the printer more or less by accident as I described here.

Remembering this, I thought that maybe the KB5006743 installation was corrupted and that could be the source of my problems with the failing installation of KB5007236.
I uninstalled KB5006743, restarted the PC and did a Windows Update scan, resulting in running again the installation of KB5007236 that concluded successfully.

Upon restart, tested my network printer and I no longer can access it in any way.
    Back to the drawing board...
    :confused::mad:

I solved it, as you can read above your post, by uninstalling KB5006743, restarting the PC and scanning Windows Update again.

You may want to try that too?
Be aware though that you may lose connection to your network printers, if you have them.

I can't uninstall KB5006743 due to an error, and I not have any network printers yet, so there is not a problem for me

That is probably what is causing the installation of KB5007236 to fail.

A bit of guessing and comparing to my own problem.

There is no error code showed while uninstalling KB5006743, but I get error with this text:
An error has occurred. Not all updates have been removed. (Note: I have translated text using Google Translate due to I have an Ukrainian-languaged version of Windows 7, so the text may not match the text of English-languaged version of Windows 7) P.S. I don't want to reinstall Windows 7
    Original text (Ukrainian):
Сталася помилка. Видалено не всі оновлення.
    UPD: Correct text (English):
An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled.

Hello. I am also experiencing problems getting KB5007236 to install. I successfully uninstalled KB5006743 without a hitch. I restarted then checked for new updates, but it didn't work out. I have KB5006749 already installed.

Edit: Restarting twice solved this issue. I was able to install KB5007236 but now I am unable to reinstall KB5006743, as it states it's not applicable to my system.

I guess KB5006743 is no longer needed.

But I stuck with this problem, and KB5006743 fails to uninstall. Even I tried to install this update (KB5007236) with DISM, and it is also fails with the same error code.

An extreme approach to your problem would be using system restore to go back to a moment just before installing KB5006743.

I don't know any workaround to force uninstall it.

Installing updates through Windows Update had been working fine so far. This time however, WU only showed the malicious software removal tool. After manually installing the latest SSU, WU showed this months updates and they installed succesfully.

But I have installed this update before installing software (including browser), so, this will cause loss of software?
