BypassESU works on any edition of Windows 7. What do you need ideas? "Why is it not working on VM?" ... The reasons can be 100 (+1), from the compatibility of the VirtualBox version from the host OS to ... any non-documented (or documented) peculiarity. To whom "very" need the latest updates on VM - can put already with integrated into the image. There is no desire to participate in doubtful experiments or guess the reasons for errors. ... If you do this for the first time and cannot install the latest updates => Go to 1st Page in This Thread (OP), re-read and do everything written. On the usual system (real installation, not a virtual machine) is "treated." Starting checks, cleaning old updates: chkdsk sfc /scannow DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Cleanmgr Logs analysis: CheckSUR.log CBS.log dism.log WindowsUpdate.log etc.. Found errors must be corrected; Problem files are deleted, replaced and (or) reinstalled. After that, the normal operation of the OS is restored and you can install updates.
I managed to get it working on an Enterprise version of Windows 7. Was able to install the update no problem.
Using Windows 7 Professional x64 with BypassESU v11. Cannot install KB5012626 via offline msu package, and windows update shows no updates available. However, latest servicing stack updates and net framework patches are installed just fine. What is the problem here and how can it be fixed?
78372: BypassESU-v11 is used in all of my Dell desktops that are running Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit. After each "patch Tuesday" arrives, the SMQR and SSU and MNF updates are all detected and installed by Windows Update in my 4th generation Intel desktops. However, only the SSU and MNF updates are detected and installed by Windows Update in my 6th generation Intel desktops. The SMQR has to be obtained and installed manually. I have no idea why this happens every "patch Tuesday", but I'm guessing it has to do with the different generation hardware. If there's a good answer for it, I'm sure someone else here will advise us.
Using braswell processor (4th generation Intel drivers are used here). Problem is, even manual install isn't working here. I guess the ESU patch has something to do with it or there is something in the registry. I had a failed update before after a reboot, maybe that left some issues here and there. Let's wait for someone's advice regarding this thing.
These are the Intel 4th and 6th generation processors in my Dell desktops. BypassESU-v11 is set up the same in all of them. Windows Update works fine in ALL of them, with the exception of not detecting and installing the SMQR in the 6th generation ones.
I honestly think it's an issue with Professional. I tried multiple times to get that patch installed and I couldn't get it to work. I installed Enterprise, repeated the same steps as I did with my Professional installation, and I had zero issues with updates not installing. I have no idea why, but for now I'll stick with Enterprise.
No the suppressor allow installing ESU updates (for Windows) whether via WU, or manually using Dism tool
In 2023 (next year), when we go to manually install the "4th year" of Server 2008/R2 updates on Windows 7, will the current Bypass allow for doing this? @abbodi1406 @Enthousiast
ESU is fully and absolutely compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, which is the version I use on my Intel Core i7-7700 desktop PC (after applying Wufuc). Since I started using ESU I have never had a single crash on each and every installation on Windows Ultimate and everything works perfectly. There is absolutely no need to switch to the Windows Pro or Windows Enterprise versions. Regards.
Like @JaimeSH said, there is no reason to use any other version than Enterprise or Ultimate, as even if you don't need the features, they will still be integrated in all Windows editions but disabled. The only difference between editions is what features you are allowed to use. Enterprise/Ultimate have all features enabled, which also means you are less likely to run into any problem where your edition wouldn't allow you to do thing X. Enterprise/Ultimate are both exactly the same, only difference being the activation method VLK or RTM.
It stop working two years ago when my pc power down out of nowhere during a Stack Update.
