Hello fellas. Where is the guide for Windows Vista 64-Bit on bypassing eligibility check for ESUs and installing all known ESUs? Is Vista ESUs an online-only thing as it is in 7, or is there an offline archive like there was for XP? Please I don’t want to read 387 pages and I don’t see where the search box is to search this forum.

    Moin @ All!

My January 2024 ESUpdate experience for Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 systems:

    "Licensing method": KB4528069 & "new" BypassESU-v12

"Installing method": Manual download and installation via Microsoft®Update-Catalog

KB5033899 (Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1) -> succesfully installed

KB5033916 (Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.8) -> succesfully installed

KB5034120 (Cumulative Security Update for IE 11 for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed

KB5034167 (Security Only Quality Update for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed

The following additional updates were offered by the Microsoft servers via the Windows Update Search and were also successfully installed: Security Intelligence-Update for Microsoft Security Essentials and .NET 6.0.26 Security Update for x64 Client (KB5033733).

@ abbodi1406: Thx for your support! Great job!

Is there any chance of supporting Server 2012 R2, now that it has started ESU?

Does anyone know if the Windows 7, July 12 updates kb5015861 and kb5015862 include the required ESU licenses and keys to extend support for Win 7 for another 3 years to January 2026 as reported and posted by D e s k m o d d e r is true??
That would mean Microsoft could be extending this support for Win 7 for longer than Win 10??

    You're 1 1/2 year late
the licenses are added, but they are not used

    I'm forseeing a bit of a problem for Server 2008 R2 specifically.
LPP KB5016892 doesn't contain POSReady related files such as "Security-spp-component-sku-pos-esu-year3-ppdlic.xrm-ms" etc
Is it even possible to install both LPPs KB4575903 & KB5016892 at the same time?
If not looks like this could be the end of the line for 2008 R2 already.

Client licenses get installed on Client only, Embedded on Embedded, Server on Server
    regardless the update contents

why do you think Server will need POS ESU licenses?
if they decided to "extend" it, it already have Year5 & Year6 licenses

I was thinking about a way to force-install upcoming POSReady updates onto 2008 R2
What about retrieving those licenses from a W7 install and manually copying over to 2008 R2 ?

Edit : in the end we probably have to wait for February patches anyway to do any testing

They won't change the updates, they will be installable onto 2008 R2
the updates will check for Server Year 5/6 licenses and keys
similar to how 2023-02+ updates check for Client Year 4/5/6 licenses and keys (which are not soled)

Thank you & all others who have labored to allow us to update & stay safe after being abandoned by M$.

Beyond that, thank you for your tremendous patience in answering the same questions over & over, even years after they were first asked & answered.

History & personal research would seem to be a lost art today. Siri has replaced thinking for a generation plus now. ;>(

Thank you very much for all of us too stubborn to surrender to the M$ greed/spy machine. ;>)
