Why did nobody tell me WSUS Proxy is outdated? Found and used WU ESU Patcher and everything's behaving as expected again.
You could patch back now & update now OR you could use the KBs from my comment above, download the updates from the M$ Catalog & manually install them yourself. Why go a month without security updates if you don't have to? OR after you patch back you can manually tell WU to check for updates & it will find them if your patch back is successful. Be sure to restart your system after the patch back before running WU. Good hunting. ;>)
Moin @ All! Somewhat belatedly, my February 2024 ESUpdate experience for Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 systems: "Licensing method": KB4528069 & "new" BypassESU-v12 "Installing method": Manual download and installation via Microsoft®Update-Catalog KB5034615 (Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.8) -> succesfully installed KB5034809 (Security Only Quality Update for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed KB5034865 (Servicing Stack Update for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed The following additional updates were offered by the Microsoft servers via the Windows Update Search and were also successfully installed: Security Intelligence-Update for Microsoft Security Essentials and .NET 6.0.27 Security Update for x64 Client (KB5035119). @ abbodi1406: Thx for your support! Great job!
Thanks for the tips, but when I switched to take the Embedded updates (rather than Server 2008) it found and installed the latest updates no problem. So having now patched back to Server 2008 there are no new updates to find, 'cause they are already installed. The Embedded and Server 2008 updates are the same and have the same KB number, so since they were already installed there'll be nothing new to find until next month and then I'll see if it finds and installs them OK as Server 2008.
What's funny is that Azure doesn't get Year 5 (or whatever this silent extension) for Server 2008 / R2
The extension could be ment for "Server 2008 For Embedded Systems" Embedded Standard 7 is not eligible or get any new updates since 2023-10 (ESU Suppressor is the only way) Embedded POSReady 7 is limited SKU of Standard 7, hence the same updates category
Firefox ESR is based on the outdated firefox 115 engine. supermium is based on the latest chromium 121 engine and runs even on windows xp
Firefox Esr is updated regularly and is the same as the one on my Linux(s). And Supermium is not ungoogled
