    My experience duplicates yours. I use WU to alert me to the availability of updates then I download & install them myself. I also watch for detailed comments such as yours to insure I do not miss an update. For me, this has proven to work best.

    Of course my appreciation to this forum & those selfless workers making it all possible duplicates yours as well.

    Thank you, abbodi1406, Sinclair ZX81 & all who contribute now as well as in the past. We appreciate you.

    Hey Guys.

    I have a small Problem and i hope someone can help me. Currently i have a very old Version BypassESU-v4.
    I deactivated v4 and also used the remover for dotnetfx4. Then BypassESU-v12_u.7z Used to install everything with option 1, all necessary KB are installed, and then i stalled the WU ESU Patcher - Standalone, also with all the required KB´s. I restarted my Pc and used the Windows Update searching but I don't see any new updates. The last monthly security update is from January 2023. Maybe one of you will have mercy and help me, I use Win7 as my main operating system and would like to keep it secure.

    Thanks alot in advance.

    Downloading and saving and then running the 810 MB size Simplix UpdatePack7R2 24.8.15 would probably be the quickest and easiest way for you to get Windows 7 up to date to August 2024.

    Yep, it's a good idea to disable or turn off your antivirus app before using the simplex update pack.
    Those 2 updates are for January 2024, so right-click each of them and then hide them.

    Is there actually a reason why Windows Update doesn't show all missing updates from January 2023 to today? I don't quite understand why the update is shown for January, which is somewhere in the middle of this time period.

    You should change the Windows Update setting so it doesn't automatically check for updates and display outdated ones.

    Good idea.

    m thinking about simply loading the kb and updating it manually. With monthly rollback, do you actually have to install every update since January 2023 or is the latest one from August 2024 enough?

    Hello

    I totally agree with you. I do the same thing, too. Most of the time I install the updates listed on WU and this forum and/or similar pages, manually, downloading and installing it.

    Having issues with getting updates to not produce the following error;
    "UPDATE FAILURE
    REVERTING CHANGES"

    *OS==Win 7 Ultimate FRESH INSTALL
    *Fresh install no windows activation key applied yet
    *Sp1 and "SP2 rollup" applied - these work fine as just running the packages downloaded from catalog
    *The errors happen only when attempting to install newer update packages from update catalog or using the windows update app

    * Made certain all prerequisite updates pkgs listed in bypass.V12 read.me were applied FIRST
    * The WU ESU Patcher is set to Win 7 Embedded

    this is what is currently installed;
    Security Update KB2667402 8/20/2024
    Update KB3020369 8/19/2024
    Update KB3125574 8/19/2024
    Update KB3138612 8/20/2024
    Update KB3140245 8/19/2024
    Update KB4019990 8/19/2024
    Update KB4040980 8/20/2024
    Security Update KB4474419 8/20/2024
    Update KB4490628 8/19/2024
    Security Update KB4575903 8/20/2024
    Security Update KB5006749 8/19/2024
    Security Update KB5016892 8/20/2024
    Security Update KB5039339 8/19/2024
    Update KB976902 8/19/2024
    Service Pack KB976932 8/19/2024
    Security Update KB4534310 8/20/2024

    Windows builtin updater lists new updates with the windows embedded moniker.
    The Bypass script setup for windows embedded.

    It seems no matter what is run (either via win updater itself or running the .msu package from the catalog) the OS portion of the updates will complete but always fail and revert when the reboot portion takes place.

    Tried the Simplex update pack as suggested by someone above and that actually worked! The build update status is now brought up to 8/24. That simplex pack is a great thing.

    However it would be nice to find out exactly what the heck is going on with the WU ESU Patcher and why piecemeal updates from the catalog and/or Win Update fail on the reboot portion??? Has anyone had similar issues before and if so how did you deal with it?
