With other words Windows 7 x64 can still use to 2026 and get updates only use the server updats of 2008 R2 same kernel so compatible, great and nice Info for all 7 users. Thanks to abbodi and his Work `` kneels down and and honor him *XD* `` lets waite to next Patch Tuesday
If you are still having problems with Windows updates, I would recommend that you do what I have done in the past: obtain the ISO image for your computer (if you have a Windows 7 OEM license and have the COA label) or Well download the iso directly from the Microsoft server. Once you get the iso image, search this site for how to integrate Windows 7 updates to date (including ESU updates) using SIMPLIX. This is the only thing that has worked for me here and to date the equipment continues to be updated.
I’ve reinstalled Win 7 2018 recently, ESU Bypass v12, the most recent SSU and 2008 R2 2024-10 Monthly Update. WU is wanting to install KB’s from 2014 & 2016 (!), which seem to have kernel files in them. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this may have happened ? Thanks
no up-to-date "WU ESU Patcher" = WU recognize only old Monthly Rollup = it sees the old Monthly Rollup as superseded (by latest 2024-10) = it offer old updates either ignore / disable WU, or use standalone "WU ESU Patcher"
I actually just wanted to say goodbye, now I'm reading about "Server Premium Assurance" which I somehow missed. So we'll hear from each other in 2026 at the latest... perfect. But still a huge thank you to everyone involved! Best wishes, Martin
This is unfortunate because the majority of users who still use Windows 7 or even earlier do so due to compatibility with 32-bit software, in addition to the fact that the hardware of their PCs does not allow an upgrade to a higher version. This scenario is seen a lot in medical centers.
Don't shoot the messenger. Premium Assurance is for Server 2008 R2, which does not have a 32bit version. Contrary to Server 2008 SP2, which does still have one. This leads to the strange situation of getting updates for Vista 32bit but not for Win7 32bit.
Here is the initial discussion about Windows Server Premium Assurance. If you are interested, you can take a look back.:) https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...dates-eligibility.80606/page-392#post-1826903
I still can't get over the fact that Server 2016 / 2016 LTSB might get support longer than W10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 But more choice is good anyway
Easy to "get over". Just remember the common denominator creating the situation: "Microsoft". ;>)) W10 was always a prelude to W11. Deals were made years apart. I imagine M$ would love to travel back in time & cancel the 2026 offer. You did see?: Build 14393 (Win10 Ver.1607) will continue to be supported until 2033-01/11
