Hello all, A TOTAL NOOB here. I have a 2nd gen i7, its pretty old and cant really perform that well with windows 10. So i was thinking of reverting back to windows 7. Anyway, I was redirected to this thread from the windows 7 download page of massgrave and NOTHING made sense to me. Can someone please, if they dont mind, explain to me the step by step process of what i should do ? I am not an advanced or heavy user or anything. I am a regular user who will watch movies etc and play some old video games, so i just want to make sure i have the required updates, as some video games require the visual c++,.net framework etc.
I created a Windows 7 Ultimate vhd image by installing it in VirtualPC. No matter which machine I deploy and boot from the image, there is always a random 5-minute system freeze. Doesn't matter how many times it happens, if I let the PC just sit for 5 minutes instead of holding the power button to force a shut down, I regain usage of the computer again without needing to restart. This leads me to think it's not the OS or hardware itself but a problem with one of the hotfixes that glitches and occupies 100% of the system resources for 5 minutes. Can anyone think of a hotfix I can remove to solve this problem once and for all?
You can´t force a/an malware pseudo operating system windows 8.1&10&11 to work for you the user; all you get is problems with these art of spyware (m$-drivers and so on) no more original drivers will accepted only with problems with the hardware itself. Telemetry all the way.
Can the SQL Server 2014 ESU also be Bypassed with this? Or is this just for Windows Server 2008 R2 Updates?
Just Windows Server 2008 R2 / Windows 7 x64 for now on. (Up to October 2024 on Windows 7 x86). How far did you go with the updates? You should skip November 2024 Rollup: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/the-kb5046687-kb5046705-november-2024-esu-updates.88767/ If the issue persists, I'd ask on a more dedicated place: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-loader-support-and-chat.24902
I think I get it. BypassESU is not an activator for unlicensed Windows. It'll only allow anyone to download and install updates originally meant for those who purchased an extended license. It's not meant for and will not activate any unlicensed copy of Windows.
@RROMAIN15 Use windows loader or ezwindslic to activate windows 7 ultimate ... Or alternative install windows 7 enterprise same as windows 7 ultimate but with kms support Or install remove wat ( bypass )
Hey, I am still a year behind on my reading. I recently used the patcher to change from embedded to sever 2008 r2 + w7 option on the menu. I was forcing the embedded updates before. After using the patcher I started seeing the sever updates. After I installed the update for November I started having adobe related messages. But my biggest issue right away is my Firefox tabs would just keep crashing when I would load Firefox for the first time after the update. I could not get around it. For now I did a system restore and thought I would check with y'all. After the restore I had to use a backup of my firefox profile to get the tabs to come up. My other question, is it ok to install the very old updates that come up for server after first using the patch or should they be ignored. My memory is playing tricks on here so I don't know if I am using the right terminology. I can't remember if the right word is patch or bypass in this last message. By the way I am using bypass 12 and just realized there is a 13.
Don't install the November update, see this thread: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/the-kb5046687-kb5046705-november-2024-esu-updates.88767/
You are very late to the forum on this update problem. Try starting at page 417 & read through to your 9th comment in 5 years. Visit, read, learn to avoid & solve so many problems. If you visit here during every update patch release you can learn many things, one being problems others are having with the updates. I delay updating during periods where many report difficulties. I skipped the Nov rollup but did update security (MSE), .NET & IE without problems. I updated BypassESU-v13fPW1234 after it was fixed. My MSUpdate continues to work & MSE continues to update. @Textaar gave you the short answer. Patch Tuesday is 2 days away. Drop back by & say hello. Read the comments on Wednesday thru the week to stay on top of what is happening. Only takes a few minutes but can save hours of confusion & headaches. ;>))
we know, there is a workround, nov update affects adobe and some browsers, browsers are fine for us but adobe pdf had a hissy fit and wouldnt load since update, so been booted off for now and use a free pdf reader on 1 main system and 2 laptops running win 7 pro. if microsoft fix it in the next update then it will be back on.
December 2024 "patch Tuesday" is only 2 days away, so we will soon find out if the broken browsers and other issues from last month has been resolved.
Sorry, I am very slow with reading print and everything else. I was trying to slowly catch up on the reading in order. I will try and do what you have suggested. Thanks for all your help.
Visit here from the 10th to the 15th every month. For 5 days immediately after patch Tuesday. You will stay aware of any potential problems & not be screwing up your computer when bad stuff happens. Your history at the forum is blank. 10 comments in 5 years & everything else blank says a ton about how much effort is being made. Folks here are real good about helping others. Would be nice if an effort was made 1st to be self sufficient. Your current problems have been discussed inside out for a month; 4 or 5 pages at least. Complete with suggestions, links & updates. What are your plans for after Jan 2026? You are always welcome to any help that is available, of course.;>))
I have Windows 7 Ultimate as Embedded Standard 7 with all updates until October and BypassESU-v12u. To continue as 2008 Server R2, do I just have to install KB5016892 ("ESU Licensing Preparation Package / required for Server 2008 R2 WU category") and BypassESU-v13f and then the December updates that get released today? Or is there anything else to do that I missed? I need Firefox to keep working.
Page 1 Comment 1 in this forum answers all of these questions. The validity of Dec 10's updates is yet to be tested & reported here. Stay tuned. I am waiting & visiting here to stay on top of any relevant reports. Keep the faith. ;>))
