Why Asus? I didn't use Asus Laptop! And just to mention The installed Windows 8 were an Original Microsoft and NOT an Preinstalled OEM! By the way, on an older Laptop, also an Acer, as the Mobo were dead, just after warranty were out, I change to an second hand Mobo and also the Activation of Windows 7 Ultimate, which were run on that Laptop was still active and never had problems.
Do you want to mean retail?? There is nothing 'not original' in OEM:SLP activation. Btw, I'm talking about the XP & Server 2003.
Tito: What's wrong with it that I used an original Microsoft Windows 8, as many other originals from Microsoft instead of an OEM? And also the XP and Server 2003 are just originals and NOT OEM's! I still have some unused Windows 7 Ultimates in their original and sealed packages in my Office and also Office 2010 Pro.! And all of them with their original DVD's ! We've a quite active BSA in Thailand and using pirated software in Companies is just a dangerous task!
Because there a lot Pirates and user who never like to pay for the work of others only complain about!
