That would be absolutely best approach, as messing with token creates Frankenbuild

Performed a clean install. OEM-SLp key, installed Dell certificate file. No result.

I checked md5 sums of vmwp.exe, both original and modded. They differ so i hadn't messed them up.

What about certificate files: do they differ with time? Or files with year date 2006 should suit? Can someone post here Dell certificate file?

By the way, do successful activations apply only to Win2k8 with Hyper-V or also Hyper-V Server R1/R2?

Although it's easy enough to mod and replace vmwp each time it gets updated, I agree with this sentiment. If the built-in SLIC is indeed valid, seems this would be the easier method... if we had tools to generate a matching cert from a SLIC table that is.

Can the Hyper V BIOS be mo

Sudden Computer Insanity can be caused by filling up your hard drive.

From memory now, I think its Start > My Computer > Right Click C: > Properties. You should never have more than 90 of the hard drive filled up and some computers start to slow down at 50.

    Windows 2008 R2
    vmwp 6.1.7600.16385
    - with DELL slic 2.1 (for vista, win7, 2008 & 2008R2)
    - with SLP 1.0 "DELL System LEGEND Dragon LENOVO TOSHIBA Compaq" for (xp & 2003)

Works good on Windows 7 with Dell cert and key
on XP failed to activate with dell oembios files and key but worked with Lenovo oembios files

Still have not been able to activate with any oembios set for 2003 or 2003R2
