    Hi,

how to use the modifyed vmwp.exe on hyper-v server 2008 r2 core? If i try to rename or delete the original vmwp.exe i get accsess denied back. Execute the modifyed vmwp.exe do nothing. Is there a way to get slic2.1 in hyper-v core server?

Sorry, but I can not make sum32 give me an expected answer.
While the ChecksumApp from post #97 works as expected
Am I missing something or maybe sum32 does not work correctly on x64?

Once ChecksumApp correct the checksum, sum32 reads it fine as CRC: 0x00000000

    Hi, Sebus!

This utility just calculates the SUM32 of the given file. To make it work correctly you should place 0x00000000 to the CRC Field of the 1B module before the execution of this utility. After that the SUM32 will give the result, that should be placed in the CRC field of the 1B module.

Trying to get Hyper-V with vmwp.exe replaced. Everest still shows a MSFT slic on 2008R2 any ideas?

Server 2008 R2 Standard with 3 Hyper-V's all the same..

And what steps did you take so far to get it working?
I assume you mean to just replace original exe with "adjusted" one?

Just stop eht service, replace file, reboot

The location of the 1b module has not changed with the VMWP.exe in 2008 R2 SP1, so just follow the instructions for modding the file and you are G2G.

thanks now I can test my Hyper-V R2 SP1 VMWP mod.

hmm i can't seem to get this working. I copied the 1b mod from a modded R2 exe, the location is the same byte sequence 702e0300 recalculated the checksum but it never gets past the Hyper-V screen.

Yes, give the original VMWP.exe (as I do not have the SP1 downloaded yet)

thanks. Good to know where I went wrong. I had read it way back when it was posted, left it alone, then decided to come back to it with SP1 on the horizon. This time I actually understood most of what was being talked about (I guess my brain just needed to time digest it all), so I had tried to do it on my own and at least got most of it right without help!! Thanks again!

Yes, it is nice to understand the process, not just blindly replace the bits
Glad to help (if I did at all)

The modded vmwp for Windows 2008 R2 works. I activated a guest VM which is Windows 2008 SP1 with Hyper-V. I used the dell ent key. The key dosent work on Windows 2008 SP1 without Hyper-v.

Thanx to all the Modders who worked on this.
