Hi so I been reading this thread and trying to replace the DELL[PE_SC3]2.2 1b module into Windows Server 2012 DataCenter Edition. My VMs just start and get stuck on the hyper-v splash screen.

Here is what I am doing.

I opened vmwp.exe in HxD.exe, then clicked Edit --> Select Block
Start Offset = 2ab8f4
End Offset = 2dfada
I then open the 1b module from post #429, In HxD --> Edit --Select All
Went back to the opened vmvp.exe, right click and select 'Paste Write'
Saved vmvp.exe

Replaced it on server but my VMs cant get past the hyper-v splash screen. Can you let me know if I am following the steps correctly? This is the first time I am trying to do this.

Thanks for the reply sebus, ahh no wonder it does not work. But good to know all my attempt was on the right path. I have vmwp.exe ver 6.2.9200.16628, from the 2012 eval converted to RTM. Is there a Dell slic 2.2 1b for this version? I'll search through the thread also.

Hence same principle, as stated. You start VM, use HWDirect & find where you want to put what. Then do it in 1B module externally in hex editor before correcting checksum & inserting it back to 13500 resource & back to exe

 

Since peoples are very confused to understand way of patching so i mean is better to patch all versions of

Win2008
Win2008R2
Win2012
VirtualPC 2007SP1
VirtualServer 2005

latest dell slic 2.2 "or 2.1 "

and to publish somewehere where people who do not now or understand way of patch it could download it
from appropriat place
