    Isn't there a dozen or more Dell SLIC's ?

It maybe smarter to use one of the 2.1 SLIC's that is compatible with the older Vista Certs.

Does the HP 2.1 SLIC work with 2.0 and 2.1 Certs. ?

    Sorry The1n,
I didn't realise the Dell 2.1 SLIC was backwards compatable.

Works for me. Actually I had just done one myself and it worked fine. Replaced with yours and still activated. :)

6002.18005 version with Dell SLIC works for me. Tested with a couple of Win7 VMs, the leaked key and Dell certificate from Vista.

When I upgrade my hardware to R2, will test the 7600.16385 version (or whatever's out by then).

    Woo Hoo! 100 posts.

    Hello everybody!

I downloaded and installed this file

    Code:
    R2 vmwp.exe 6.1.7600 16385
into Microsoft Hyper Server 2008 R2 RTM. My guest Hyper-V machines start without problems. Can anyone tell me how should these machines be activated? Guest OS is Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP1 and SP2 Enterprise. What certs or keys are to be installed on guests?

I tried OEM keys on guest SP2 but there is no activation. :(

I have just tried 26Y2H - Ent key. Dell certificate. No result. Are there any other keys - your hint "see the sticky"?

    SLIC + key + certificate = Activation

All 3 need to be present

You have the SLIC (modded BIOS exe) you seem to have installed the correct key.
Now do the certificate & you are done

    slmgr -ilc certificate.file

Thank you for your attempts to help, sebus!

    I executed exactly this command:

    - slmgr -ilc <dell_certificate>. Still no result.

In order to clarify this situation I give additional information. Hope, this will be useful for other members, especially when reporting success.

    - This w2k8 Ent guest had been previously "activated" by Hyper-V Server tokens.dat, so called 135 year trial. After that I started research with different OEM-SLIP keys.

    - Exact OS is Win2k8 Enterprise x64 SP2. Originally it was RTM (SP1), then I installed SP2.

    - Locale is Russian.

Next week I'm going to perform a new and clean install of a W2k8 Ent guest and report about the results.

    Hi,
can someone of the 6.1 modders short explain what changed?
I'm not able to do it myself, i had a look on ur work and see the ~300 bytes that were changed, and where u update the checksum, but over which range u calculated them i didnt see. Also cannot find the range and if it exists: 1b modul...
