Yes you misses a lot 1. install win 7 ultimate sp1 and activate with your original key or use DAZ tool 2. check that win 7 its activated online 3. download a NEW iso file of Win 10 pro with media tool, or upgrade from inside windows 7 (not boot from iso) to Win 10 Pro with the media tool 4. check that win 10 its activated online, if not wait a couple of days
Make sure you download the Pro version with media creation tool. Re-installing Home will do you no good.
I dont have the key anymore. So, I need microsoft to activate it online by detecting my hardware ID ?
if you upgrade windows 7 you can revert back to you original version. If you did a clean install it's a problem
Good that everyone always does a back-up, so if they bork an install it's easy to restore. Reading/following instructions after the fact is quite common, almost human nature. My transition went flawlessly.
soamz, try a clean windows 7 ultimate install and activate with Daz loader, dont install any update at all but make sure the computer is online, after rebooting after Daz's see if its activated, if it is, just proceed and upgrade to Win10Pro choosing to keep nothing so you can get an almost clean install experience.
yes I did a clean install. I have the product ID which starts with 00 . But the product key says, it cannot start with 00. Means there must be a convertor to convert product ID to product key. If I can find that, then problem solved.
So Daz Loader detects the product key from my hardware ID and activates the windows ? Or is it illegal ?
If you lost your w7 key in the upgrade process then its long gone, nothing to do about it, Daz loader tricks your computer into thinking its an oem computer with a slic (a windows serial number embedded in the bios code) to activate, it is illegal to use on non oem computer but we need it just for the upgrade to windows 10 process, which will lead to a legit Windows 10 Pro, consider it an activation hole.
installed windows 7 ultimate SP1. Installed and rain DAZ Loader too. Windows shows activated and product ID shows different from what I had before when I had bought it 4 years back. So, how is it different ?
But does the windows 10 get auto upgraded with its automatic legitimate keys or whatever ? All I need is a licensed windows 10 which I can get all the updates and everything. So it does ?
Because it uses a different kind of key (oem, retail, upgrade, etc). Now upgrade to windows 10 and choose to keep nothing and enjoy your legit Windows 10. After the upgrade you can now clean install as many times as you want.
Now one more error! Im seriously dead. I downloaded the Windows 10 64 bit ISO for Windows Pro. And I made a bootable pen drive of it. Now being at Windows 7 desktop, I tried to run the setup.exe, but it shows error. "Use the other installation disc that says 64-bit. When you insert it, windows setup will automatically start"
Now I just tried to reboot and restart to bootable pen drive. Click next next and select INSTALL WINDOWS and keep existing files. But I get this error.
As fas as i know, you have to start the upgrade process from windows. Can you screen the name and label of the iso you used?
Bro you did wrong . First install windows 7 ultimate as a clean install then activate it via online then download the windows 10 pro iso . click the right mouse over the iso and select mount and do the upgrade from windows ( not boot nor clean install) complete the updgrade . skip enter any key during installation . then You will see windows 10 pro activated . Now u can re format your drive and do clean windows 10 pro installation but remember do not enter any product key . Hope this helps you . thanks .
Did you UPGRADE FIRST? the upgrade doesn't ask for any keys so I suspect you didn't upgrade first. Once upgraded and activated you can do a fresh install or "reset"
