I'm not sure what caused my problem, when I re-install I shall check after each thing I install/activate/crack and try and find the cause. Might take a long time.
I wish windows could be re-installed like OSX leaving all programs in place.
I have used a version of kmsmicro on another box recently to activate windows and office and that one's fine.

    Well, two days later...

First i did an entire reset, took hours, system worked fine, installed everything, did not get into the office stuff activators, and again same thing, cannot enter user control.

did a refresh as i thought i did something wrong, and now, same thing again.

    Don't really get it.

i am not really running any cracked software that uses patches or anything that should tamper. at least i think.

I can acess all these settings in "the old way" as in going into computer management and then changing settings about users in there, but i cannot change the behavior of windows update...

so this is where i am at right now.

    any ideas ?

Try troubleshooting this, therefore hit the Win-Key and start typing "trouble...", the choose in "Settings" "Troubleshooting". In the next window under "System and Security" it´s "Fix problems with Windows Update".

Cool, thanks I will. I started having trouble with the graphics so now iv done a factory reset with the manufacturers default image, so hope things will smooth out now :) also will try to check windows update user control settings after each update/install I do to determine when it actually happens.

Hi, thanks for your reply, it is strange as it seems like this is somehow related to the installation of office 2010/2013, it is after the installation this problem seems to arise.

EDIT: also, you are right, my retail activation did not get touched, still got the original, many thanks for clarifying.

Not saying it has anything to do with your activator, maybe i am getting "hacked" versions of office or something.

Would it be possible to get a referral of a good link to office 2013/2010.

Iv also used your "proper" activator downloaded from this forum.

    many thanks.

    ok, sweet,

now i have one more question, when i opened word for the first time the little popup came up about what settings i want to use for update, i hit, ask me later, at least i think i did, and now i cannot activate it, in "file->account" there is no option to hit update.

Anyone know about this, how to activate it ?

They were delivered via Windows Update. Simply enable "Get updates for other Microsoft products" :D.
