Minsk.. i believe he was saying that Microsoft added those to the hosts file.. (as a joke)
and yes you would just get a blank page as 127.0.0.1 is the ip address for LOCALHOST meaning your machine.. since your machine probably doesnt host the MDL forums its not going to find anything resulting in a blank page.. remove those lines from the hosts file.. 8)

lol, I said that MS (Microsoft) had added those lines to your hosts file

Of course you can't access MDL if you add those lines, it will redirect MDL to your own PC

Apparently there's no hosts file blocking, W8.1 WMC clean install and updated
ISP could be? if it's wireless try wired or opposite, worked once it was intermittent on wire and going wireless made it work,
Mine on wire wouldn't disconnect or connect manually, had to verify with Firefox:confused:.

    hope this helps

Its not a DNS problem look the ping request the forums.mydigitallife.net has been resolved to an IP and he is receiving a reply meaning no problem with connection but browser.

I still think it is something installed, causing the block

you obviously can access this site by using another machine. Which browser settings are on this one and on the one that does not work. It only can be the browser as ping seems to run properly.
