I just installed Windows 8 Pro (x64) VL successfully. It is all activated (via KMS) and working fine. Now I want to add Windows Media Center. When I click on add new features. It does not exist! Is it because it is the volume license. If so what can I do then? How can I add WMC??? Please help me as I just got a TV tuner usb stick and I really badly need WMC. I don't mind paying $10 for it. Thanks.
Windows 8 Pro installed from the Volume License ISO does not have the Add Features wizard, and as such it appears to be impossible to install the Windows Media Pack. You will need to install a retail version to have WMC!
Oh well that is terrible news Then I have to find a retail ISO of Win 8 Pro. And even then, how can I then activate that with my KMS server??? Please help! Thanks. P.S. Is there a (better?) alternative to WMC? I want my MTV!!!
You can activate a Pro Retail same way as the VL against a KMS host, simply input a VL-Key first, then activate. As Paul already stated the WMC-Trick isnĀ“t working anymore. Check out XBMC as an alternative.
WMC works only throught telephone activate, just do as slave77 said and then disconnect from the internet and select activate via phone.. follow instructions given and then BACKUP!
OK so I need to get hold of the Retail ISO then change the keys to VL, etc. Seems easy enough So then where do I find me a Retail ISO? And thanks for the tip about XBMC. I will indeed check it out. Now help me find the Retail ISO!
Yes that is correct it is imperative to check the hash of begining Iso as well as the final ISO when converting to be confident of install ..
