Its a total guess, but could it be a Printer- or Color-Profile thats interfering here?

the only printer installed on the computer is a Samsung SCX-4x21 All-In One laser printer and Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro.

I had this problem once before and I reformated and the problem went away but now it's back. A friend has the identical laptop with the same printer and does not have this problem. I hope it will be a simple solution to fix this.

    thanks

    BD

try recovery, and go back to a previous date before this issue arised.

I think installation of some software or application may have f**ed this up.
Try and figure out which apps u installed before this started happening...

I will wait a while before I reformat again on that laptop. This started out of the blue and I did not add any new software to that laptop in a while. I turn off system Restore as that never worked for me.

After this occurred I installed Picassa and ACDSee so at least I can view pictures. I'm sure that this is not an isolated problem and will pop up on more computers in the future on Win7 installs. Hope there will be fix from MS then.

    thanks

don't think this'll be a wide spread incident, bro. been using win7 daily now for 2 months, and never heard nore seen this happening.
Follow my advice above, i'll bet some app will popup as your culprit.

this isnt win7 problem that will be fixed with patch, your recovery never worked?i think something must be wrong with your install,i've had no problems with any win7 from beta to rtm, recovery is so handy, not because of win 7 but other software can cause problems.
