Change System Icon in Windows "Devices and Printers" page

    can anyone give me the name of an icon creating software that will give me a multi-layered icon that meets the requirement of this utility and the Devices and Printers Metadata Authoring Wizard?

    the only one i can find that gets close is by NCH software and that doesn't create a 24x24: 32bit (True-color + Alpha) or a 24x24: 8bit (256 colors) layer so every time i try to add the icon i am gonna get an error message

    Works fine, but when i choose my 256x256 ICON(which is already as my computer on the desktop) it says that dimension is wrong:confused:

    Can you give me a hint?

    Anyway it is e useful tool!

    There is a bug in the maximize button... it just shifts the app window to the upper left corner of the desktop without changing its size.

    There is option.

    Download and install Microsoft Device Metadata Wizard. And it'll help you do it for all devices in Windows. It's simple as program above. Just create icon, associate this device and enjoy!

    not work on windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise.. :(

    I tried it and It does not work on Windows 8 Pro, at least for me.
    I started the app as an Admin, plus, UAC is disabled (at driver level)

    In Any case, amazing tool!
