When it's the same as before IoT EnterpriseS will be normal EnterpriseS (IoT with OEM licensing only) and that one is 19044.xxx based.
They broke 19041 SSU compatibility for IoTEnterpriseS favour, so yeah, it will be 19044 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1686187/
This site needs an ' Internet esoterics ' section for all the people with crystal balls speculating about what colour bill gates socks will be next sunday please ?
Whatever the branch version of Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021 or Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, I hope the bloat is less/none. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise install size is just 10.8GB with stubs of UWP apps in the start menu. Hope these two also have similar small install sizes. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise gives an extra hour of battery life compared to Windows Server 2022 LTSC on my laptop. So even though I was alwaz in favor of Server OSes for daily use due to them being bloat free, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise is performing better in the battery department. Hope Windows 10 LTSC (any version) has comparable battery life and less bloat.
What's the typical size after installation of Windows 10 LTSC 2018/9? Also, if there any perf improvements over 10? I am skeptical to try 11 due to it being a mass beta testing. I think it will stabilize by next year Update for better stability.
Mine (LTSC 1809 17763.2237) is always about ~13 GB right after install. Currently sitting at 14.1 with all my usual programs and drivers installed and old Windows update packages/files removed.
So, two days until release date, and no leak...?? I don't think I've ever seen such a thing. Don't get me wrong, the current version works just fine and I'm not even sure why I care about any new version. Still, two days to go, and no leak...unheard of...!!
yeah thats bad. no leak. New version is better if you are a gamer. Some new games have compability issues with builds. Like, 1607-1809 etc etc
Yep there are some actual improvements in the newer builds, and if you're like me, you've got other things on hold waiting on the new "long term" install so you won't have to re-do it all in a week. An example of improvements I've noticed in newer builds. On my system, all USB audio devices (my Focusrite 2i4 interface, my Xonar SE card with USB audio chip + asmedia USB to PCIe converter) will stutter, drop sound for a milisecond every few seconds on older builds. It's like gaming microstutter, only for audio. My Focusrite 2i4 will straight up blurt out farty "bvvvffft" noises when streaming video. On 20hx and newer it does not do that, or is greatly reduced. Then there are all the other little things like GPU temps being displayed in task manager, Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, etc....but I loathe, hate, despise the full, bloaty, naggy, intrusive Windows versions.
Windows 10 LTSC 2019 was also similar sized only around 11-11.5 GB. Windows 11 feels fast bcoz they implemented some stuff as per Microsoft for quick launch of programs even though other programs are running in the background. There is a youtube video for it. Yes...with patches and upgrades it cud stabilize by next year. I am currently using 22000.282 as many bugs were fixed in it as per the Release Notes. Feels ok enuf to use daily.
