People really need to give up on "clean installs" and finally figure out what the hell "reset" is for.
I think many of the "new" members the last days and some of the older ones are here to make trouble on purpose
Well prove me wrong, what info can I give you from my build vs the 10240 build that shows they are the same? I am not trying to argue, I'm actually really wanting to see how we can tell they are the same.
Nah ... it's more a frozen brain.exe due to over-excitement. Once it unstucks all will flow smoothly again .
Activation Servers are overloaded, give it a couple of days or after a few reboots it will activate by itself.
just tried it and now i have a "beautiful" message saying "We can't activate Windows with this product key..." nice job Microsoft i'm good to reinstall the OS
murphy and several <LEGION> of others already checked. You cannot compare, MSDN/WZOR ISOs with the ESD downloads or the ISOs created by MS MCT. MSDN an WZOR ones are hash-matches.
Yeah, sorry but i momentarily only see all sorts of suggestive posts from various "expert" users from which i think, how the heck did you became an mdl expert? the reset option in Win10 is great, the closest thing to a clean bare metal install without doing a bare metal install. I like that its faster too. just be sure to choose the system drive and not all drives when it asks what you want to clear. Or you might lose all your drives and their data.
So really, if we cant check then noone has the real answer? I just have a gut feeling as if the builds are the same and I had the same issue on all 3 pcs (all different setups) and did a clean install using the MS official one and everything worked it just raises my suspicion that this one is the better one to go with if everything works.... ya know what I mean?
Those having activation issues try running this task \Microsoft\Windows\WS\License Validation See if it returns an error - last run should be 0x0.
So, everyone who installed build 10240 should infact clean install with the one MS released today? That is exactly my thinking at the moment, just because of the issues I sated about cortana not working and other bugs which seemed to have disappeared on this build from MS today.

Yea, I upgraded. It went fine. The thing I noticed is that this is the FIRST build of 10240 which did not give me a BSOD when I installed directly to VHD. Not virtual machine, VHD. It always went south after Express Settings screen. The MSDN 10240 installs perfectly. Something is different.
