Hi folks, have w7 loaded not 100% sure what I did but here are a few things I changed for this install to work finally. Used a ps2 keyboard, disabled Lan in bios, loaded w7 in safe mode. Finally got it loaded and loaded mb, gc discs. also activated it. Saw in pc management that the lan adapters had not loaded, so re-installed them. But -- the pc is still hanging about 5-10mins after loading. It just freezes. so where can I see the reason for the hanging - under management - event viewer. what do I look for here - or what can I post here. thx k ok - just reading other threads/forums - will post events id's/info tomorrow. I think I saw printer errors looking at them earlier -don't have printer.
Everybody are looking at hardware problems, but you already verified if your DVD is Ok? Was it burned correctly, in low speed? The DVD files can be corrupted and your installation could be corrupted too causing all those problems.
Had tried 3 discs in total, last one done by img-burn. xp loads fine. This is down to drivers at this stage. saw on another thread that printer drivers were hanging the system. will post the event details later. thx k
