Hi guys I might be posting in wrong topic, but can anyone tell how I can get .fd from my Vaio BIOS (it downloads as .exe, and hen unpacked contains some .dll's and 1.6Mb .rom)? Ant help would be really appreciated.
Edit by Yen: I have copied the post about the module sums of andy...... Playing around. EzH2O cannot be automated using SendKeys the same way MMTool can so looking at doing manually. Comparing before/after mods done using EzH20 there appear to be 3 checksums....... several hours staring at a hex editor reveal the following: Code: Offset (h)Length (h)Item ------------------------ 0 10GUID 10 1Header checksum (2's complement sum of first 17h bytes - assume extra checksum is 0) 111Extra checksum (2's complement sum of bytes from 18h to end of module (excluding any FFh padding)) 121?? type of module or module flags 13 1 ?? module flags (00h or 40h) 143Size of header and module (excluding FFh padding at end, but including 00h padding) 171F8h 183Size of extended header and module (from 18h in header, excluding FFh padding, but including 00h padding) 1b1Type byte / Extended header byte - if 10h, 19h or 1Bh then module follows directly - if 2 then extended header 1c10?? another GUID 2c 2 size of extended header (excluding last 4 bytes) - seems to be 1Ch 2e2?? (02 00) 304CRC32 of module (including last 4 bytes of header, excluding FFh padding, including 00h padding) 343Module size (including these 4 bytes, excluding ALL padding) 371Type byte All modules are padded 00h/FFh to QWORD boundry The module can be split in to regions. Each has a 4 byte header - 3 bytes of size and 1 byte of ?? (? type). Effectively the last 4 bytes of the header (DWORD at 18h and 34h) are 'reigon headers' (with one region, with type byte =2, being an extended header). Each region is padded with 00h to a DWORD boundry. Andy
I have flas**t with /all for aspire 4810T. Now my UUID and serial is gone. Which software I have to use to put it back? I do write down UUID SN. Also, I notice the DVD can't boot unless in IDE mode. Is there anyway to correct? Thanks, Kumphanart
I have try compal dmi tool v.3 somewhere on this web. Is there other option or anything I should be careful to use dmi tool successfully. Best Regards, Kumphanart
Looks like it.... I have posted the files and instructions in post 28 to topic 157975 in the forums at insanelymacDOTcom / forum I believe it will work for all Insyde bios users, and in f.49, the module is the same. No need to look through hex for this one folks....Very simple solution.
Hello, I have a question re new bios for Toshiba A300 (v. 2.00-WIN). Is there any possibility to check (without upgrading) what the Slic Table (if any) is introduced in this Bios. Bios: Insyde H20 Best regards
I tried the solution from the other forum. I have a CQ50 with f.52 bios. the included GUID doesn't seem like the wireless list. When I remove it, the machine refuses to boot and I have to do a flash recovery. I will keep testing with removing various modules. Will post back if I have success ***UPDATE*** Using the ezh20 software I finally removed module: 74d936fa-d8bd-4633-4db6-6424bdd23d24SmmFwBlockService This has disabled the whitelist. Using an apple atheros 5008 mini pci-e and it's a much happier machine now
You defiantly wrong: 74d936fa-d8bd-4633-4db6-6424bdd23d24 - kills ability to reflash your bios normal way for mini 311: 7FA4AE0A-1404-4DCC-BE28-CE58029CF5D1 BiosLockUsb E62F9F2F-4895-4AB5-8F1A-399D0D9C6B90 BiosLockPcie
Hello Icelord, the E62F9F2F-4895-4AB5-8F1A-399D0D9C6B90 BiosLockPcie Module is the wrong. I delete with EZH20 the module, the crash the bios. beinbruch
First, you are on the wrong board Second, your bios is a specialized HP Rompaq bios which cannot be modified...sorry but you will have to use a loader
