Sorry, I thought I had left feedback...(better late than never, I guess) ASUS P4S8X-X Both HP and Dell SLICs worked for Vista. Both failed for Server 2008.
I have server 2008 activated with HP slic in VM..How did you try to activate? I have activated with DELL, ASUS, Gigabyte also...
Wow, the guy who did my mods in the 1st place! I have been able to activate Server 2008 in both VMWare (with the SLIC bios) and on an MSI KT4V-L (with Asus SLIC bios) by installing the proper cert file and key. I requested (a while back) a bios mod for this Asus P4S8X-X board. You graciously modded my bios for both Dell and HP, but neither the HP nor the Dell version of the bios would activate Server 2008 for some reason. They would, however, activate Vista with no problem. Do you have any input? Is it worth trying a different vendor SLIC?
I dont know why the OS wont activate. maybe the cert is not registering? Since you had good luck with the ASUS SLIC, we can try that...

I really, really hate to ask you to do it a 3rd time, but I just cannot figure out what's wrong! I know the process I'm using is right, because I've done it probably a hundred times on various Vista and Server 2008 installs.
need help, bad bios Hello, i need your help with the gigabite ga-7vtxe+ motherboard. I just bought a cpu upgrade for my PC, a 2600+ toroughbred with 133/ddr 266 fsb, but my Mobo, does not recognize it correctly. i tried to flash my bios with f6a ver from manufacturer where it is said that it is recognized correctly but it is not. i saw earlier posts with custom modded versiuns of the ami bios - BIOS _7VTXEP_v1 and BIOS _7VTXEP_v2 but links do not work anymore. can you help me find these bios releases?
