So you already know why your "special" version is showing it, the public version doesn't, why do you keep bringing this up?
Because someone used "setx prompt=$p10586$g" ? < shrugs > As to why someone would do that, perhaps she/he is sharing a monitor, keyboard, and mouse amongst several builds on different machines and is old school and feels at home at the command prompt ? < shrugs again >
My takeaway is this... we get it when we get it.. I personally don't see what all the hubub is about, and what all the anticipation is about. Some people are acting as if they are going from a Commodore 64 OS, to the ultimate in OS's.... just sitting on the edge of their seats. It's not like there are going to be any HUGE changes anyways... A couple of alleged Edge improvements, another column in the Start Menu, some color in the title bars, and some under-the-hood additions ( probably to increase the information gathering that MS is implementing ). It would suit me fine if it takes another month, as long as they don't push out a crappy release to us as a mandatory update.
Amen. There's patch Tuesday, but some say 12th, then the 17th. Commodore to 10, LMAO All the speculation is a PITA.
So when you say Threshold 2, is that like a new version that has Service Pack 1 encompassed in it or what?
@ ChaserLee yay I agree 100% and I hope more things as return of transparency, produtive things not simply little corrections thought so can take six months I don't care
No, win 10 was just released so even if they still used the term service pack, it's wouldn't be one now. This is an update, like a bunch of hotfixes and additions. Like being able to add previous keys, track your devise like an Iphone, Skype and sway integrated, and others.
Amazing ! I have made an iso file with the install.esd I grabed from last 10586 update fast ring (5th Nov) on my PC. Then I made a clean install using this ISO on a blank small HDD and skipped the product key... and guess what ? Windows 10586 was activated at the end of installation. slmgr /dlv show retail channel, slmgr -xpr show windows permanent activated, no time bomb. Must say I have other Win10 10240 th1 installed with retail key on this machine (same HWID). Does that means this version is official Th2 ?
