[Closed] Windows 10 “Threshold 2” to launch in November for consumers

I truly appreciate your patience man haha at this point I would just give up explaining things. This is 10240 all over again, but this time we don't have an release date, just rumors.

I wonder if there was any showstopper bug. I mean they even said that Cortana would be available in India after the 10th update. Any Indian members? Is Cortana available over there?

 

They said cortana will come with Indian region along with fall updates but this has not happened. only security updates delivered. no cortana is working with this updates to India.

 

Did you check it in 10586 ? That one contains the "fall update".

1.2 gigs woo that is for sure the signs of bloatware. Sad you release something as RTM for students and then release 1.2 gigs of fixes shortly after. I would call that poor service, not windows as a service.

It's been like that for some time, even on Windows 8.1 the monthly updates accumulated to about 1 GB. I think the problem are mainly the Office ones because they seem to be not just delta patches but include whole files - that would mean if there was a change of just one single bit in, for example, EXCEL.EXE or WWLIB.DLL, it contains the entire (patched) file (in case of EXCEL.EXE, that's 33 MB uncompressed; WWLIB.DLL is 35 MB). Plus, if you have a Pro Plus edition installed, you get all the updates even for the components/applications you don't have installed (now that updates are forced).

The problem for Windows is that all updates a cumulative now, so instead of getting little fixes for bugs that have not been fixed, you get the whole package of all fixes all the time.

WU is a massive bandwidth hog in this regards.

 

in 10586 the cumulative update is (x64) 48.4 MB (50.817.691 bytes)

 

But it will update to the TH2 whenever Redmond anoints us peons with the update.

Can I use converted ISO to do manual update?

 

It's safe to update with the esd links provided by the xml of the Media Creation tool program?
It's RTM or Insider Preview. I want to be sure.

No one can be sure until MS officially releases the ISOs. My best guess is that these ESDs are RTM for TH2.

 

Yes, gosh what cheek Microsoft has. How dare them heavily discount their software to students, or do horrible things like give operating systems away for which they will supply upgrades free of charge for many years...! Bastards...

 

Insider builds don't have all languages, so yes, this is RTM. Heck, it even says so in file name.

 

My understanding is that Cortana in Hindi will be released along with the consumer Windows 10 TH2. I don't think there is any specific date programmed for that.

 

This is not RTM. Is just an ESD of a build converted to ISO. Is not RTM. Cortana doesn't work in India with this build. We got to wait for the official release, then it will be RTM. This 10586 Build gots no watermark or timebomb, but IS NOT RTM. Get it right.

 

So please explain to me why a working Cortana in India is a must-have for the RTM?
Did it work in 10240 RTM?

It's not Insider build either. So what is it then, a mistake released to WU servers?
