I have just installed W7 Ultimate. I have a problem with cmd: the processes cmd.exe and conhost.exe are started/running, but there is no black 'DOS' window popping up. So I can't do the simplest commands. (Except by PS)
It seems so ridiculous for such a basic part of the OS.

I have seen that I am not alone in the world with this problem, but sofar all ideas have not helped. Anybody who can help, or give some ideas?

have you simply checked the properties . right click the cmd.exe and select properties , and check all of the settings. if you have a preactivated windows OS it may have been hidden .
