Hi.I have Compaq Presario CQ62-a11SO.Few times on startup got message (something about battery),but ignored it.And suddenly screen went off while using laptop. When turned on again,it was blank screen. But when I connect to external monitor (for ex. TV) using HDMI I see my desktop on TV screen.Everything works fine. But if I restart connected to TV,screen comes up only from the moment windows is loaded. No bios setup,no Q logo.Somebody knows what it is? Thanks.

Sounds like the screen backlight died, maybe the inverter

Can you see any image on the screen very dim if you look close ?

nah this is LED model . they are very sensitive. likely it needs to be replaced . $60 or so on ebay or amazon 15.6"
to see if its LED look at bottom of it for a little circuit board thats the inverter, but u dont have it so its LED

ive seen bad battery bad doing this or bios version.. also ram bad contact causing this and the serial missing issue.

try turning it on without battery .. first check ram to be seated clean in their sockets... re seat ram not reset :p
