which download would i want if I just need English and want ability for Windows Media Center? And 64bit?
Post #2 in given link; Core/Pro with update x64 is the Retail version you need then (the only one WMC can be added) .
Also where do i find the install keys now....the link from post on page one is not valid anymore. Thanks
No I do not, I believe i was able to grab it from somewhere last time when you pointed me in right directions.....and if it makes a difference I am looking to do a update from Window7Ultimate...do i need a certain download? I was browsing the other thread and it seems recommend to do a fresh install....but looking to skip that if dont have to. Dont want add everything back.
Afaik that upgrade will only keep personal files, nothing more, so i would always opt for a backup of all personal stuff and start over doing a fresh install. Lot's of older programs/drivers aren't fully compatible to Win 8.1 so better get latest versions .
Sounds good, only real thing to backup is XBMC folder...this is just a HTPC. Will take a loook at getting all things backed upfirst. So where do I go about getting the WMC key?
In this case i'd recommend using Microsoft Toolkits 'EZ-Activator' (even the ProWMC edition can be activated that way). It will install needed keys and AutoKMS for automatic reactivation . Much better than messing with leaked keys that will be blacklisted and blocked soon .
Ok so download latest version of toolkits, then install the new OS. Then do I still need a key or just install as "trial" and use the ez activator? And this will allow the use of WMC also? Sorry shouldnt wait so long between upgrades, always forget the steps ha.
Ok downloading the MSMG, downloaded the ISO file from earlier. I am stuck on next step, I am following the instructions for MSMG but guess not properly. I put the ISO that was downloaded from Pauls Magnets into the DVD folder. But the MSMG is not seeing it as the source? AM i doing something wrong?
Yeah just did some more reading and saw that...thanks for update though will keep posted if any more questions.
Ok everything went great! I've got a general windows 8 question can't find answer to. I am running this on a HTPC connected to projector. When I am just on the desktop the colors look great, blacks are black, reds are vivid. But as soon as I open a explorer window the background gets washed out. Is this normal? I have not noticed before on other windows 8 setups. But I minimize back to desktop and back normal.
