Convert back from Ultimate to Professional without reinstall??

    I have an HP SLIC 2.1, then I installed the Win 7 ultimate, then I check the OEM SLP keys, but there's no Ultimate key for HP, only Professional and below. Now my disc I can select which version I want (expect enterprise). but that means I have to reinstall it? (selecting professional)

    Use ANY Ultimate key.

    'Brand' is irrelevant in this case...

    Correct, cannot downgrade without a reinstall

    Actually, you can.

    Theres a thread here somewhere where the procedure has been described.

    Simple change in registry, like most things in windows.
