    Thanks Freestyler

Tried out your OEM Files for Power Pack 3 trial ISO and worked brilliantly.
Do you know where I can find the latest patches for Home Server.

Great, works with no problems, the only issue - did not activate with Dell 2003 R2 CRC-99735910, but activated fine with older Dell 2003 CRC-C20D8FF5

No idea why, as the R2 has the same string (plus more)

    EDIT:

Completly did not notice that I copied UN-compressed oembios files to the iso, hence no activation!

Strange... what are you using, a VM? The SLP strings are in a valid range?

Hi - this is my first post. I've been on this site as a troll (well on the non forum side anyhow) for a while. Stumbled upon this last night as I frantically realized that my dream of setting up a homebrew WHS is now stalled.

Here's my situation - I have an older AMD Athlon/Gigabyte mobo based home built machine that I am planning on repurposing as a WHS. It's got the space for drives that I need and overall is a decent workhorse.

I also have a Windows Server 2003 key from Dreamspark.

Now - My understanding is that you can use a windows 2003 key on WHS. Would my key work with this method? also what do you mean by "chosen" does my bios or anything on the system need to be from one of those vendors? If not, is there a difference between one over the other? Or is it just a pick one try it, if that don't work, pick another, try it, etc?

TIA - and sorry for the long winded first post!

So your trolling was not very productive IMHO....

No, your key can NOT be used!

Just DMI your Gigabyte mobo with Hewlett-Packard & you are done

sorry - for the last 6 or more months i've been pouring over a gazillion threads across an infinite number of forums so my head is had just about enough of the info gathering process. I'm building two machines at once a WHS and a WMC HTPC between reading reviews before I buy parts etc and how to get everything to work right - snags like this really take its toll!

thanks for the instant reply! just one more thing - when you say DMI the mobo, that's the OEM changer that was linked earlier?

and the 2nd part of my Q i tried to pm but MDL wont' let me until i've got 5 or more.

    Thanks again SEBUS!
