Hi guys. First of all, sorry for my poor English, but I'll try to do my best. I had a good knowledge regarding Windows PCs until BIOS was replaced by UEFI, and I had no time yet to update myself to this new "thing", and my last PC was a custom-built Core 2 Duo E6420+GF 7950GT et al. that served me very well for 6 years until it died this January, so I bought this HP Pavilion G4 2240BR that came preloaded with Windows 8 CoreSingleLanguage in Brazilian Portuguese plus the tons of HP Bloatware. Since my Win3.1 days, I use EN-US versions of Windows, so I made the "Win_8_Pro_Sing_Lang_En_X64.iso" using BTOR method from post #38 of this thread, the MD5 matched so I assume everything went right. But my computer refused to boot either the flashdrive or the DVD even after I choose them on Boot Order, I only managed to boot the DVD after I put BIOS/UEFI in legacy mode, and then managed to Windows Setup, wiped all partitions, including EFI, and installed it in the same way I installed W8 on my old C2D, letting Windows create all the partitions. But when the setup completed, I was prompted by the Key, that fortunately I had retrieved both on AIDA32 and rweverything, and wrote on a paper, but after entered the key, I got an error message telling me that Key wasn't for the Windows version installed. What am I doing wrong? I guess it's because the Legacy Mode I choose on BIOS/UEFI, but as I told before, I am completely blind regarding this UEFI thing. Thanks for all and sorry for this long noob post.
Thanks Tito. Unfortunately I've used the HP Factory Restore already, but I'll try your tip on my next try. I'll need to turn the BIOS/UEFI to Legacy Mode again on my next attempt, or there is any way to do a clean install leaving this setting untouched? Thanks again.
firstly u need to create UEFI USB using CMD. see my attachment. Then just copy paste your Win_8_Pro_Sing_Lang_En_X64.iso files into your usb. . And then boot your usb. Hope this will help you,
