Celebrating and mourning at the same time. Especially if we are emotionally attached to one of those being culled. When nature culls the herd, we call it natural selection. When we cull the herd, it's called attrocity. Maybe it's because we just can't do it correctly?...more humanely? It's a horrible position to be in. Knowing that you have a life in your hands, and letting it die. TBH, I'd rather that nature does it because I just don't have the stomach to wantonly kill. But that's me...YMMV
Nature is not so nice when it culls a herd. Some die a slow death, some are eaten alive. Some die of starvation. No, nature is not kind. I am referring to animals in nature... not humans. It is what separates us from the animals.
