    hello,

Sorry (despite all your effort here) to say but I am in the need of some more extended guidelines.
I'm on Win XP PRO SP3 VLK DUTCH.
I want to convert to OEM

I have an ASUS P7P55d PRO mainboard.

    your guidelines are:

Once you have modded your bios >>>>>:confused:HOW is this done ????>>>>>

, and downloaded the set of 4 OEMBIOS.* files From htttp://oembios.net/. Link is not working
and how can I be sure to have the on that suits my mobo ?

For the rest I think I should be able to manage but :
I'm a bit shy on using this as I don't know what I can expect from adjusting my BIOS and how this is restored in the event of disaster.

Simply put the 4 files in the same folder as the VLK_TO_OEM.exe executable and run it.
    The files should be:
    oembios.bin
    oembios.dat
    oembios.sig
    oembios.cat
    That’s it, you’re done !!

i use tool with slp1 hp in bios, i put all right files oem, and mgadiag tell me i am genuine ok.
validation page at microsft also tells me well genuine, validated.
    so ok and genuine.

    but
only strange stuff is when i click button Copy in mgadiag, i get this somewher in text file:

    File Scan Data-->
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.bin[hr = 0x80070714]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.dat[hr = 0x80070714]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.sig[hr = 0x80070714]

i Used right oem files, crc checked, etc, everything passed validate, only above is strange in mgadiag.exe report txt file.

tried refresh kache of protectd files, same messag.

on other pc, also bios slp1 hacked, did install fresh from same oem cd, all is ok, validate, but above strange thing not happening, no "file mismatch".

so maybe something missing in method?

Do anybody get this also? Is normal, or cause problem later?

I'm getting precisely the same mgadiag report text file after using this conversion utility. Does anyone have any ideas concerning the cause and a possible fix?

As long as you have the SLP in the bios..yes. SLP 1.0 NOT SLIC 2.1

Your SLIC 2.1 will not help you activate XP, unless you also have SLP 1.0 made at the same time

I use AwardTool v1.29 and did the following:
    Org bios: xxx.bin
    Mfg: compaq
    slic file: HP
slp file: HP <== i hope this is slp 1.0 you're mentioning
    cert verify: pass
    Method: ISA
    then i click "go"
    Success

after installing xp w/o entering serial number. i plan to use vol_to_oem with the 4 oem included. the only thing i need to do is click #3 and it should activate xp? or i can enter serial since it's has slp? or need to convert to oem first?

thank you for the replies and i'm sorry for the confusion.
    1) my question is since I use AwardTool v1.29 and add both SLIC and SLP, does this mean i have both SLP1.0 and SLIC2.1. i know for it has SLIC2.1.

    2) when doing a clean installation, if it SLP1.0, do i need to enter serial number when asked and can use HP OEM key from sticky?
FYI: XP SP3 is not an OEM disk

    3) if i skip number 2 above, all i need to do is click #3 in the VOL_TO_OEM changer and it should activate XP?

    Thanks again

To enter the key during install it needs to be ratail version of XP (NOT VL)
    But you can install without

    Broken Links

Sweet little program! I think I downloded a older version because the links above do not work. Can you post new links to the latest and greatest?

    Thanks!
