Hi!!! I've been trying to install those two patches: VistaTcpipUacPatch22 VistaTcpipUacPatch2.2a I have 32 bits -> 22167 But I'm still suffering with stucked windows and router. How could I check how much half-open ports I have now? Thanks!
i've been reading around and haven't been able to find a solution. I've downloaded Vistatcppatch21a. I have patched everything correctly to my knowledge. Now every time I open utorrent or any p2p firefox and internet explorer stop working. now im not the brightest person when it comes to doing things like this, but I didn't search on google and haven't found anything. So far I have disabled my firewall, hardwired into modem to make sure it wasnt the router, made sure my netsh global was disabled, and also lowered the settings in utorrent to see if that would work. still havnet been able to narrow it down. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you tried to play with Vistas autotuning ? 1. Open up an elevated command prompt (CMD). 2. Enter the following command to disable auto-tuning Code: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled If you found that this doesn’t fix your problem, you can turn it back on by using this command Code: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal You can use this command to view the states of the TCP global paremeters. Code: netsh interface tcp show global Other way around (router depending) is to set it as highlyrestricted - to will allow receive window to grow beyond its default value, but do so very conservatively. Code: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted First try to set it as disabled, if it doesn't help try highlyrestricted.
None of them help me out of the problem I need Windows Vista... but it really is a pain for P2P :S any other thing that could be of help? Thanks!
You want to set half-open limit patch to bigger value than 255? That's not possible. I set it to 100 ,it's optional. Also check settings in uTorrent Advanced - net.max_halfopen
I have 100 as half-open set and it's more than enough, I don't see the need to set it over 255 at all. Have you updated your network card drivers ? What kind of connection structure do you have ? (for example -> LAN -> Router (brand? model?) -> Internet or WLAN (chipset? model ?) -> Router (model?) -> Inet ?)
First of all... THANKS! I only half-open ports at 8. My router is a D-Link DSL-G624T conected directly to my pc. I tried to find a better driver (via Windows Vista) to my network card (Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection), but it seems to be the last one... I also tried to find it over the web... but I didn't find any. Kind regards!
I don't think so... How did you came to the conclusion ? A litle more info would be nice. Maybe we have missed something, I shure hope not...
I have been using this cracktcpip for many months. But now AVG free anti virus deletes this off my system. It won't let me download it again - I can't seem to make an AVG exception for this file. Well, I ended up uninstalling AVG....doing what I needed...reinstalling AVG and disabling all automatic AVG scans.
