I would suggest you restore back to previous session. It happened to me once that after I patched the TCPIP.sys and my whole connection just won't work. You're lucky enough to get your torrent working, mine couldn't even browse to local site
Yeah, I've restored original tcpip.sys, but what else can I do to kill this f***in' limit if hexing metod does not work here??? Always when I start any kind of p2p program (ed2k, torrent), web sites are not loading any more... I have to restart my system to have my internet connection back... Any other advices?
Try to replace tcpip.sys at these positions: Note that 3rd position is a filename, not a directory Also i suggest to replace files using your Install-CD (RepairMode -> Console)
Ok it's working perfectly after replacing those two other files What can I do to delete those watermarks on my desktop? I'm using Polish Vista Ultimate x64. Files that I saw few sites before (user32.dll.mui) are for English version, where can I get those for Polish language version?
Well I don't know how you say "Test Mode" in Polish, but with a resource editor like Resource Hacker you should be able to make your own Polish version ... there's a generic howto around here somewhere .......
So with little help of this resource editor i can edit my polish user32.dll.mui to delete those test mode watermarks? Am I thinking in a right way?
Most users here report that "Testmode" is still there even after patching user32.dll.mui (like me). I think its hardcoded anywhere, so i suggest to use Windows Classic Theme or use DreamScene from Windows Update.
I don't know why it's working for some and not at all for others. The first time I tried it, the Test Mode messages have gone away and have not come back whatsoever. It's been well over a month. :X I'd much rather hit F8 at every boot than use the "Classic" theme or Dreamscene.
So why dont you setup VMWare and try if you can do it again. If you succeed you can tell us what you have done.
Didn't work for me either when I tried patching the user32's. Not a huge deal as I was use Dreamscene for an animated background anyways.
The interesting thing though is that it worked perfectly with my VMware test. It removed the watermark just fine, but not from my live vista platform, go figure Can find out what the problem is yet.
Yeah sure. That resource eater that works only for ATI users, because nVidia fags refuse to release proper drivers to the public. And yes, I own nVidia graphics card.
I use it with my systems, both of them have Nvidia cards, a 8800gtx, and a 7900gt, and Dreamscene works just fine. What were your issues with it out of curiosity?
TRB, yes, signing the driver, and therefore enabling test mode, is entirely optional. If you don't boot often, there's really no need to go through that extra complication, and as you mentioned, F8 will let you bypass integrity checking and get into Windows. You control the number of connections (with a patched tcpip.sys) using a DWORD here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters TcpNumConnections For example, if you basically want it to be "infinite," set it to (decimal): 16777214
Neither is true for me (works great and performance is normal). We still haven't figured out why some users aren't able to get it working.
LOL. "Some" being everyone else, right? Surely you're not recommending anyone else try considering that track record, right?
I got everything to work minus removing the watermark from my live system using dumppqs method. As I said before though, removing the watermark worked fine on my VMware test of it though *shrug* No biggie since I use Dreamscene anyways. You might want to include in your instructions though to modify the registry entry for tcp connections to a higher value, I'm sure someone will not realize you have to do that.
