Mine don't work ? It say Win 8 x86 Win 8 Pro x86 Win 8 Pro with Media Center x86 Win 8 x64 Win 8 Pro x64 Win 8 Pro x64 (these is missing out media center) Can anyone help me how to do Win 8 Pro with Media Center x64 only ????
Hi back, mon ami! Atm, i´m testing it, but have no ent x86 here, will see if it works though, will report then.
Your command line doesn't make sense to me rather confused with : cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.0\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Deployment Tools\amd64\DISM ------> OS 64Bit or cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.0\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Deployment Tools\x86\DISM ------> OS 32Bit Please sort this out in a proper way as mine is failed doesn't work
Sorry I have a problem. When I use command to create bootable image I get error that "OSCDIMG" is not recognized. I am using windows 8 as my main system and only command prompt not ADK. Thanks in advance
Without having win 8 ent x86, this happens (both Pro WMC x64 entries refused to work): View attachment 18583 View attachment 18584 View attachment 18585
I am following the instructions in the opening post, but keep running into an "Error 5" message when trying to set the edition to ProfessionalWMC. I am on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, installed the Windows 8 ADK. I am running the commands in the "Deployment and Imaging Tools Environment" command prompt, which I ran as administrator, so that it's elevated. Instead of working in "c:\win8aio", I'm using "e:\image", but otherwise following the commands exactly. All the commands work, except for this one, when working on the first (x86) mount. "Dism /Image:e:\image\mount /Set-EditionrofessionalWMC" which returns: Code: Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.2.9200.16384 Image Version: 6.2.9200.16384 Starting to update components... Disabling feature(s) [==========================100.0%========================= ] Error: 5 An error occurred while operating system components were being updated. The upgr ade cannot proceed. For more information, review the log file. The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log Same problem happens with the second (x64) mount as well. What I can see in the dism.log is that it's full of entries such as this: Code: 2012-10-30 14:40:01, Info CBS Failed to delete registry value: ExtendedError [HRESULT = 0x80070005 - E_ACCESSDENIED] 2012-10-30 14:40:01, Info CBS Failed to delete store object value named: ExtendedError [HRESULT = 0x80070005 - E_ACCESSDENIED] 2012-10-30 14:40:01, Info CBS Failed to query sources for package: Microsoft-Windows-Editions-ProfessionalWMC-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.2.9200.16384 [HRESULT = 0x80070005 - E_ACCESSDENIED] 2012-10-30 14:40:01, Info CBS Key Handle for: \REGISTRY\MACHINE\{BF1A281B-AD7B-4476-AC95-F47682990CE7}E:/IMAGE/MOUNT/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-Help-ClientUA-ProfessionalWMC-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.2.9200.16384, has Access: 0x10f001f 2012-10-30 14:40:01, Info CBS Key Security: O:BAD:AI(A;ID;KA;;;S-1-5-80-956008885-3418522649-1831038044-1853292631-2271478464)(A;CIIOID;GA;;;S-1-5-80-956008885-3418522649-1831038044-1853292631-2271478464)(A;ID;KR;;;SY)(A;CIIOID;GR;;;SY)(A;ID;KR;;;BA)(A;CIIOID;GR;;;BA)(A;ID;KR;;;BU)(A;CIIOID;GR;;;BU)(A;ID;KR;;;S-1-15-2-1)(A;CIIOID;GR;;;S-1-15-2-1) Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
No, I am using the correct non-VL MSDN ISOs: en_windows_8_x86_dvd_915417.iso en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso en_windows_8_enterprise_x86_dvd_917587.iso en_windows_8_enterprise_x64_dvd_917522.iso The install.wim files in the non-enterprise versions contain 2 images, exactly as the guide requires (Core and Pro).
